Recently, InnoTact successfully completed its first study focusing on the opportunities for small and medium sized enterprises in the south part of the Netherlands in the field of biomedical materials. The study was commissioned by the NV Industriebank LIOF, N.V. Noord-Brabant Development Agency (BOM), N.V. Economische Impuls Zeeland and Syntens Innovation Centre.
InnoTact’s study shows that the south part of the Netherlands has a strong position in research, development, and production of biomedical materials. Its industry spans the complete international field of biomedical materials, covering tissue engineering, implants, coatings, drug delivery systems, and diagnostics. Interestingly, the complete supply chain for the production of biomedical materials is also present (from “raw materials” to “distribution and sales”). Furthermore, the key-processes, developed by InnoTact and being instrumental for a successful (potential) biocluster, are present. All this justifies extra efforts to fully exploit this unique position of the south part of the Netherlands.
Following this study, InnoTact Consulting will organize a number of meetings for the industry in the south part of the Netherlands, again commissioned by LIOF, BOM, Impuls Zeeland and Syntens. These meetings are aimed at joining forces of all stakeholders involved in biomedical materials in the south part of the Netherlands, by sharing technologies, facilities and expertise. The meetings are targeted at the setup of collaborations in which expertise can be developed into concrete new products.
