Dr. S.S.G.E. (Stella) van Boom

One of Stella's typical attributes is her ability to combine her insight into business process with result-oriented analysis. With this she confers an important role to human motivation. This is also how she often achieves fast and creative results, also when the projects are complex.

Her work experience in an academic setting, the business sector as well as in government makes her completely at home in very diverse private and public projects. 

Stella studied chemistry at the State University of Leiden and graduated in the field of medical chemistry. After earning her doctorate, she worked for six years as a project and innovation manager in Unilever. In this capacity she was responsible for converting bio-technical innovations into successful products. The required business and marketing knowledge was supplemented with a condensed in-company MBA (IMD, Lausanne). Among other things, Stella worked on new Functional Food Products at Unilever.

Afterwards she used the management and marketing experience gained at Unilever in a non-profit government organisation: ZonMw. Here she dedicated herself to the conversion of bio-medical innovations into applications in healthcare. As an innovation and communication adviser at ZonMw, she was able to add the skill of conceptualizing and realising communication strategy to her portfolio. She was also the chief editor of the journal Mediator for five years.
